Code of Honor est un groupe de punk hardcore formé en 1981 à San Francisco par le guitariste Mike Fox, le bassiste Dave Chavez ( Verbal Abuse) et le batteur Sal Paradise. Le groupe recrute Jonathin Chris fin 1981 et début 1982 réalise deux titres pour le single What Are We Gonna Do?. What Price Would You Pay? sera utilisé dans la compilation Not So Quiet on the Western Front du label de Jello Biaffra ( Dead Kennedys) Alternative Tentacles. Code of Honor part alors pour diverses tournées en compagnie de Fear, The Exploited, Suicidal Tendencies, Black Flag, D.R.I., Bad Religion, JFA, DOA, TSOL, MDC, Flipper, Bad Brains, Urban Assault, Tales of Terror... et beaucoup d'autres, aux Etats-Unis et en Europe. En 1983, le groupe enregistre 9 titres intelligents et politiquement cyniques, dans un hardcore puissant et mélodique pour le split Code of Honor / Sick Pleasure. En 1984, Code of Honor sort son seul album, Beware the Savage Jaw, qui mélange toujours un hardcore furieux et engagé, mais cette fois si, avec aussi des morceaux plus calme, inspiré de rock plus experimental.
